For this sustained investigation I decided to depict the way that cities or urban places can make people feel caged or claustrophobic. I used a picture of a bottle floating in the ocean. The original image of the bottle had a ship in it, so I had to mask some of it out. I then put the image of the Dallas skyline within the bottle to give the gaged or bottled up affect.

I used a couple different images to create this sustained investigation. The two different images were the picture of the Dallas skyline during a sunset, and the image of the bottle floating in the ocean. I put both of these images on different layers so that I would be able to put different filters and shades on the images.

In order to create this sustained investigation I had to first blend/mask the ship out of the original image of the bottle in the ocean. Once I did this, I used the eraser tool to get rid of some of the Dallas skyline so that it would fit in the bottle. After doing this, I put a filter and used the burn and dodge tool in order to make the skyline appear more brilliant and highlighted.
